Neriya Tech Academy: SAP Career Research and Curriculum Plan
Research date: 8 October 2026. Scope: employer-informed curriculum design and a dedicated SAP Career Paths catalog. This is a qualitative sample of role families, not an exhaustive census of every SAP vacancy, a hiring-demand ranking, or a job guarantee. Listings change and some reviewed postings redirect after closing. Employer experience requirements remain distinct from course outcomes.
What employers expect
Across sampled LinkedIn, Indeed, Dice, Glassdoor and Monster listings, corroborated with employer postings, recurring requirements include business-process knowledge, configuration or development, cross-module integration, troubleshooting, testing, migration, documentation, stakeholder communication and implementation/support experience. Many consultant postings require multiple years and full project lifecycles. A training portfolio can demonstrate competence but cannot replace those years. Junior support, business-user, analyst and developer-trainee opportunities should be distinguished from senior consultant, manager and architect roles.
| Candidate requirement | Evidence Neriya should assess |
|---|---|
| Process/domain understanding | Business brief, process map, organizational/master-data decisions and explained transaction flow |
| Hands-on product skills | Recorded tenant edition/version, reproducible configuration or code and successful execution |
| Integration | Cross-module document trace, interface contract and reconciled source/target results |
| Testing and diagnosis | Positive and negative cases, deliberate fault, root-cause analysis and retest |
| Data quality and controls | Validations, reconciliation, access-denial tests and approval/control evidence |
| Delivery and communication | Requirements, design decisions, UAT results, cutover/support handover and live explanation |
| Experience and certification | Honest training-project labels; separate verified employment and SAP certification |
Industries differ: manufacturing values production, quality, maintenance and logistics; distribution/retail values procurement, sales and warehousing; finance/shared services values close, controls and reporting; regulated sectors add traceability and compliance; large HR organizations value employee lifecycle and privacy. US federal vacancies may additionally require citizenship, clearance eligibility and travel. Those are employer-specific eligibility conditions, not universal SAP requirements.
Learning-platform comparison and restructuring decisions
| Platform/source | Reviewed coverage | Neriya design decision |
|---|---|---|
| edX / University of Cape Town Business Systems Analysis | Process analysis, requirements, specifications, data/interface considerations, testing and change | Embed business-analysis artifacts in every functional path; it does not replace SAP configuration practice |
| edX / UPValencia Enterprise Systems | Introductory enterprise-system concepts across ERP and related systems | Use the conceptual sequence in foundations, then add tenant-based transaction evidence |
| Coursera / SAP Technology Consultant Professional Certificate | Consulting foundations, discovery/design/implementation and applied client-project work | Add stakeholder discovery, design, testing and handover to each specialization; avoid treating a broad consultant certificate as deep module mastery |
| SAP Learning official journeys | Product-specific role skills, edition-specific implementations and specialist topics | Anchor each course to its current official journey, record edition differences and validate labs against the actual tenant |
Curricula below are original Neriya designs informed by these competency patterns, not copied course text. Official journeys are reference baselines rather than proof of SAP accreditation or exact exam equivalence. Check the current selected SAP certification exam, prerequisites and maintenance rules separately.
Recommended rollout and career progression
The catalog contains 19 new courses plus the preserved SAP AI, Joule & Enterprise Automation course. Publish outlines together, but stage teaching capacity. First validate foundations and a small core set: finance, procurement, sales, ABAP Cloud, BTP integration and Activate/business analysis. Then expand manufacturing/quality, EWM, security, analytics and migration. Add TM, EAM, Ariba, IBP, SuccessFactors, Fiori and operations as appropriately licensed environments and qualified trainers become available. This ordering is a practical launch recommendation, not a measured vacancy ranking.
Suggested progression: foundations → one specialization → cross-functional integration project → capstone and portfolio defense → role-targeted interview practice. Software developers may enter ABAP/UI5/BTP after programming prerequisites. Basis/security paths require operating-system, database or identity prerequisites. Experienced accountants, procurement practitioners and HR staff should build on their domain background.
Additional role families reviewed in broad postings but deferred as separate courses: Project System, GTS, EHS, utilities/IS-U, real estate, advanced payroll, industry-specific solutions, legacy BW/BO and specialist architecture. Offer these only after a focused employer sample, current product journey and deliverable lab plan. PM/QM, FI/CO and SAC/Datasphere are combined here for coherent course scope; they should not be marketed as mastery of every related consultant specialization.
Assessment and launch readiness
Each new path has four business projects and one integrated capstone. Passing requires at least 80/100 and every critical acceptance test to pass: build/configuration 30, testing/diagnosis 25, data/control reconciliation 20, documentation 15 and live defense 10. Critical failures such as an unreconciled ledger, unauthorized access or broken business document flow require remediation even with a high total score. Use synthetic data, resettable tenants and learner-specific variants. Assess individual contribution separately in team projects. Keep assessor notes, evidence timestamps and versioned rubrics.
Public pages contain outlines and acceptance goals. Detailed instructor execution guides are private drafts outside the public site. Before cohort launch, trainers must validate every lab in an authorized tenant, record the actual edition/version and application paths, create starter data and fault fixtures, calibrate grading and import the guides into the authenticated classroom. Restricted provisioning, licensed modules and feature availability cannot be assumed. Where no appropriate tenant exists, do not market simulations as verified SAP execution.
Course hours and sequence are proposed. Tuition is now published with full-payment and installment options. Cohort dates, training licenses, trainer capacity and supported editions must be confirmed before instruction begins. A Neriya completion credential should identify assessed training skills and evidence; it must not claim official SAP certification, job placement or years of implementation experience.
